Weekend Shenanigans!

Happy Tuesday Journeyers!!!
WOW how come a weekend is only 2 days? Life is so unfair. Kidding! Make the best of your life people! It's worth it! Promise!
This weekend was a cheat WEEKEND for me, never mind only cheating on the Sunday. Eating healthier is rather tough! I have a horribly sweet tooth! :( And exactly 23 days ago I got onto the scale at our neighbours (in front of everyone) and they all encouraged me to turn my eating lifestyle around! So starting weight was 71.1kg. And I have a weigh in every week. After week 1 I was on 68.6kg. After week 2 I was at 67.4kg. My next weigh in I will do Thursday night as we are leaving on Friday for some quality relaxation time!
But I'm getting way off track here...
Friday night we went for drinks and dinner with our neighbours. Drinks was at BiCE Ristorante. WOW what a stunning restaurant! Great view! Would definitely want to go there for dinner some time!

Ladies of 46 Wilton. Only Taylor and Rouelle is missing.
My Boo and I. {heart}
After the drinks we were off to Red Chamber for some dinner. Cedric was craving Peking Duck and that's exactly what he got. OMG! How yummy was it! We took a variety of foods and shared. I chose the Sweet and Sour Pork and Sally took the Ginger Prawns. YUMMY! I was so mesmerized with the food that I completely forgot to take photos. Halfway through I was like "ahhh damn I forgot to take photos". I promise to go back there just to capture everything and share it!

Saturday we were with my parents for a nice relaxing braai and obviously Landan was with us too. I cheated some more there. Oops. Damn you sweet stuff!!! But it was so much fun! Spending some quality time with me mum and nephew. Halfway through the evening Landan was pretending to be Spider-Man, busy jumping on me. And all of a sudden he got very quiet and just started playing with my hair. I first left it, thinking he was tired now. But then it hit me, he was eating gum. So I grabbed my hair and there it was. Gooey and sticky. Thank goodness my mothers husband managed to get most of it out without cutting it out. But some pieces just refused and I had to cut....
Last piece of gum is out!
We spent the rest of the evening playing this game (have no idea what you call it) and sitting next to the fire.
I took some Instagram videos of them playing, even Landan joined in the fun and for a 2 year old I must say he is kicking some butt. :) Not sure what my Instagram name is? See on my side bar. xxx
Sunday it was my real cheat day. And I've been craving Peppermint Crisp tart the whole week so that's exactly what I made. Then we were off to breakfast and the Flea Market.

My yummy Burger breakfast!
What gives you the idea he was not in the mood for photos?
And these will be known as our "Bush bracelets" from now on. {love}
After we got back from breakfast and the Flea Market it was tart and tea time. Unfortunately it did not set completely but we had some anyway.
I'm very proud. This was my trademark dessert in High School!
A close up.
On your marks, get set, EAT!
After stuffing our pretty faces with yummy tart we were off. And this was our last stop for the weekend.
Our camera bag.
Yes we finally bought a bag for our camera. And it's perfect. Not too big and not too small! Now let the shooting begin! :)

Don't forget to go spoil yourselves with a Georgie.B Winter Sale Item! :)
And there you have it. So what did you get up to this past weekend????

Thank YOU Simply Siyaam and Lipgloss Kisses!

It's Wednesday! In exactly 1 week it is our 3 Year Anniversary! Yay! I am very excited!
But enough of that, you guys will remember how I told you about my lucky streak a few weeks ago with 3 Blogs. Well I received 2 of the blogs prizes and I just want to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!
Firstly to Lipgloss Kisses for my R500 voucher at The Laser Beautique. I must admit though that I am freaking out a bit over this one. Laser = I'm already crying like a baby. So if any of you have already done any laser work please let me know what the level of pain is. 1 being low and 5 being high!!!
As soon as I go I promise that I will do a whole post about my experience.

And then to Simply Siyaam , thank you so much for my beautiful wallet! I adore it and I love the color and the little flower details on the inside. Love love love!!!!

AfricanSwiss

Hello Journeyers.
It's Monday, AGAIN. But who cares, because we have 12 Days before we hit the road for our week long holiday in the bush and as you can tell we cannot wait! We started doing mid-year breaks last year and I think it's perfect. I honestly don't know how people can work throughout the year and only go on holiday once a year! Who does that? Workaholics, that's who! Every person in this world deserves a break sometimes! No a long weekend does not count! You need to take at least 5 consecutive working days for it to qualify as a decent break! Capish???? Great, happy we understand each other! hehe
Other than our holiday we realised we actually have a very busy last 6 months ahead of us.
Next week it's our 3 year Anniversary. (Yes you read right. 3 YEARS!)
Then we hit the road for our holiday. (Bush here we come! I will be doing lots of shooting of animals, with my new camera of course! I don't like that whole killing thing. Sorry boo.)
There's a long weekend in August (thanks to the woman of the world) and we are going to the bush, again!
Then it's MY birthday! Can I get a WOOP WOOP! :)
And then the moment we have all been waiting for, Cedric's birthday! He is turning the BIG 3-0! You go baby! For that we are joining his family in Adelaide on their hunting farm.
Last but not least, December we are going to Mauritius to spend Christmas and New Years with his family.
See I told you guys there's a hectic few month lying ahead of us. Plus we would love to squeeze a weekend away to visit my dad.
Back to our weekend. We had proper winters weather this weekend and decided Saturday that a night away would be perfect. So we phoned AfricanSwiss and booked ourselves in for a night out.

We chose to stay in the Luvut.
It is a nice open plan chalet, with a fire place, boma, shower and outdoor bath.

We went to the restaurant area for a nice lunch and decided to drive up to the look out tower thingy to go look at the sunset. :)
Thank you clouds for either spoiling our pics or making them. Not sure how I feel yet. haha.

Me and the tower.
The tower. The owner called it a castle and I was very excited to go see the castle. Fail! haha
And Cedric made a big friend. Next to Mo-Landy.

Cedric and myself would love to work on our photography skills and then hopefully sell or send our photos to nature/wildlife magazines one day. And we found a name for us: For Us Photography

We love tree shots! Well I do!

Another tree and sunset shot.
And there you have our weekend round up! Thank you very much to all my readers who always take time out of their busy schedules to come read my stories and leave comments! I really love every single one of you! Obviously in a sisterly kind of way! Otherwise it would just be gross! haha
Till next time!

Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve

Hello Journeyers!
I know I completely missed Monday, my bad! But I did not forget about you! Today I will be doing a little recap of our weekend. What a fun weekend! We did one thing both days! Yes ONE thing! You must be thinking how boring that is! Indeed NOT....
Saturday morning we slept in a bit, and after a whole week of only going to bed after 11:30pm I think I deserved that 10 am sleep! So please don't judge me! :)
We got dressed, hopped in the Mo-Landy (yes we named our Defender) and off we went to the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve. I always love going there! It's close by and you know you will at least always see 1 of the Big 5!

I must admit the Entrance Fee is a bit steep, but they have to pay the bills some how. While driving we saw multiple antelopes, from Impala, Springbok, Oryx, Black Wildebeest, Ostriches, Elands, Buffalo (Big 5 = tick), Wild dogs, White Lions (they just fed them as we arrived), Zebra and the list goes on and on.
But the thing I was most excited about was the fact that I was FINALLY going to play with the Lion Cubs!
You pay R30 pp and you can play with them for 5 min. Dream come true! They are so cute. They had 2 camps, one camp had White Lion Cubs that was 4 months old and the other camp had 3 Brown Lion Cubs and 1 White Lion Cub that was 7 months old. We decided to go into the bigger cubs camp.
They are so cute, although they were very lazy when we got there. I just wanted to stay there and never leave. Those 5 min flew by and I was not very happy when the guy told us time up. Boooo!
Anyway, while driving taking photo's of the animals, all Cedric could hear was me moaning "Baby I need a better camera, I can hardly zoom with my "mik en druk"! So he took the camera from me thinking I was exaggerating. Surprise!!! I was not! So off we went to Dion Wired and I GOT MY CAMERA! What a great deal! We bought the Nikon D3100 which was on special. It included the camera, a 18-50mm lens, 55-200mm lens, Binoculars, Adobe Photoshop Kit and a Bird Book.

He was a busy one.
Paws at 7 months!
Sunday morning I was off, on the road and ready to pick up Landan, because guess what. We were so excited about the camera we thought another trip to the Rhino and Lion Park would be in order. Plus we get to test the camera. Bonus!
I must say, while I'm still busy trying to figure out what Aperture and Shutter speed means, I'm slowly getting the hang of my new beauty!
On our way and happy!

I love this animal! Sable

And there you have it, this is what we did the whole of Saturday and Sunday! It was so much fun and I would recommend it to anyone! :)

So, what did you guys do this weekend?
Happy Tuesday!!!
